The Glenorchy Football Club advises that Michael Bowden has been appointed Senior Coach to replace David Newett.
Glenorchy Football Club President, Colin Gardner, said that the Club was very pleased that Michael had agreed to take on the role, following David Newett's resignation to take up a position at North Melbourne.
"Michael is a Life Member of the Club having played over 200 games in a career which commenced in 1982 and continued until 1992. He won the prestigious Roy Cazaly Medal as the Club Best and Fairest player in 1989 and is a three time Premiership Player.
"Michael had been an Assistant Coach to David Newett for the last two years so is fully familiar with the operations of the club, the players and the culture established by David over the past three years.
"Ben Reid who has coached the Reserves to the last two premierships will again coach the Reserves but will also step up into a more active role as Assistant Coach.
"We also have a number of past players, including Adam Henley and Tim Green, returning to the Club to have an active role in 2008.
"With this team on board for 2008, we are confident that Glenorchy will build on the success of 2007", Mr Gardner said.
